What to notice at 8. Bd3

Black exchanges and prepares ...e5; follow how the formerly restricted pieces gain scope.

Your thinking first

Name the signal, choose a plan, and test the opponent’s most challenging response.

What do you notice? What is your plan, and why?How could the opponent resist?

Recall and explain

Explain it in your own words before revealing.

2. Why might exchanging a restricted bishop be dangerous?

Explain it in your own words before revealing.

3. What can change a bishop's value in one move?

Explain it in your own words before revealing.

Make it memorable
